A video security system will be used both at home as well as at commercial buildings in order to monitor the movement of people within those places. These act as both deterants and also evidence as they can record images that can be played back if anything ever is broken into.

If you decide to use a wireless network then you will pay a little more money but it will be a lot more convenient to install the cameras around the house. Obviously there are no problems with fitting wires around the current furniture.

A switcher is used to connect together two or more video cameras to a central monitor. But you can get more advanced switchers which allow you to connect in alarms. The reason for doing this is that the corresponding camera is locked whenever the alarm is triggered.
